According to the emergency department of Linyi City, Shandong Province, from 8 a.m. on July 6 to 6 p.m. on July 7, the city experienced an average rainfall of 116.7 millimeters. Since the start of the flood season, the total rainfall has reached 288.2 millimeters, 95.3% more than the average for this period in previous years.

As of 4 p.m. on July 7, water management systems in Linyi are operating normally. The total water storage across 38 large and medium-sized reservoirs is 903 million cubic meters, 63.7% higher than the historical average for this time of year. Two medium-sized reservoirs have exceeded their flood limit levels, and 269 small reservoirs are overflowing. In the city center, 77 locations experienced temporary waterlogging, which has since subsided. Additionally, 62,660 mu (approximately 4,177 hectares) of farmland experienced minor water accumulation, expected to be fully drained by the morning of July 8.

As of 7 p.m. on July 7, a total of 3,631 people in Linyi have been affected by the heavy rainfall. Emergency evacuation measures have been taken, relocating 1,939 residents from low-lying areas, geological hazard zones, and households of the elderly and solitary individuals to safer locations.
